Linguine with bœuf in black pepper sauce

Actually this is just a simple dish that resemble much like the Chinese Beef in Black Pepper sauce just that instead of Rice I substitute it to Linguine pasta because according to my #1 critique (aka Hubby) the linguine have a much absorbing taste to the sauce and therefore it is much more delicious. So, I tried it with a linguine and voila! It taste really nice and with an Asian and western taste to it so it’s just perfect for a light lunch :)

The ingredients needed to do this dish are :

1. Boeuf/Beef
- any kind preferably the one that is very Easy to chew when you cook it
2.  Sauces
- Worcester sauce, Sweet soy Sauce and a light soy sauce
3. Onions
 – Red, brown and garlic (chopped coarsely)
4. Vegetables
- Shitake mushrooms, leeks, green capsicum
5. Pasta
- Linguine No 11
6. Herbs
- Sweet dried basil, dried Thyme
7. Butter, salt and pepper

Preparation:

- marinate the beef with all the sauces and a Tbs of flour, salt, pepper and Thyme for about 30 minutes.
- Stir fry the onions with a a few drops of olive oil until it's brown
- Next, mix in the marinated beef and stir fry again for another  5 to 8 minutes
- Then stir in the capsicum, leeks and mushroom and add a few tablespoons of water and cover it with a lid for another 5 to 6 minutes
- Finally, stir in a big table spoon full of  low fat yogurt and stir for a couple of minutes and put the lit on again for another 3 minutes with a low fire on.
- Shut the fire off and set aside.
 1. stir fry in progress with all ingredients in except for yogurt

 2. stir in the yogurt to the beef stir fry

3. Prepare the Linguine pasta for approximately 11 minutes

4. the linguine no11 which is used and cook for 11 minutes

 5. Finished pasta is now stir in with a few slices of butter and some dried sweet basil herbs

6. The finished pasta prepared

 7. Now transfer the pasta to the stir fried beef on the frying sauce
 and mixed well
8. The finished pasta and the beef stir fry together.
 9. A closer look at the dish :)

Vege power!

I'm not a vegetable person since i was a child and there's only a couple of vegetables that agrees with me and i am a very picky person when it comes to Vegetable and it's all because of it colours.

But all this changed when i live abroad and looking at other cultures and lifestyle and how they incorporated vegetables in their cooking and the taste was fantastic.

I also read a food magazine regarding how to incorporate vegetables in food they cook for their children even though kids hate vegetables in their food but by cooking the same food with vegetables in it the nutrients of the vegetables stays in the cooked food and makes it a healthy food to eat, even though kids will line up the vegetables that they hated on the side of their plates at the end of the day but indirectly they are already eating a healthy meal just beause you incorporated vegetables in them.

So sticking to this technique i have managed to convert myself to a vegetable tolerable eater and i have always managed to at least add 5 types of vegetables in all my cooking and so you can see what i did to this simple dish of soy sauce chicken stir fried with tomatoes, mushrooms, leeks, broccoli, carrots and finally green and yellow capsicum.

Now with the vegetables in it it is now a healthy food to eat. Voila!

To non vegetable eaters, do try this as it will change your life for the good :)
well good healthy life that is:)

Instant Noodles...Yummmmmmy!!!

Was on the phone with my aunt this morning and she asked me what i,m going to have for lunch and i told her just gonna have a simple Instant Noodle and i get a shrieking yucks from her and she went on telling me that its not good to eat instant noodled and stuffs. Ah well, i guess it depends how you prepare the food really and how much of the seasoning from the packet you actually use. So if you add some healthy ingredients to it and do not use the seasoning provided or just use some of it will definately make the simple dish more appetizing and healthy;

So to prove her my point here is my vegetarian Instant noodle Dish courtesy of Cintan Noodles :)

The Ingredients:-
1. Dries anchovies and shrimps
2. cabbage
3. carrot
4.Capsicums
5. Red Onion
6. and of course....Cintan Instant Noodles - Perisa Sayuran

Voilà! Instant noodles special! hehehe

thats the cintan noodles perisa sayuran i was telling you about :)

Yummyyyyyy!

Just another weekend

Well, and yet again i have my parents and myself this Sunday too and at the earliest of morning i could hear my mom calling me to eat breakfast and coffee with her which seems to be the routine thesedays....On sunday usually my dad will go and get breakfast for us and that includes a few types of "Kueh's" like the home made donouts and some "Tausa Pau" and for me me he usualy bought me the all so famous 60Cents Nasi lemak where we usually get at school during school days and also some "Bi Hoon" and "Mee goreng" which worth a dollar each. So mom would usually call me from the kitchen to get up and have breakfast with her and after some cleaning up go and have the morning breakfast and munch away my "nasi lemak" yummmmy :)

Sunday is the only tme where i allow myself to eat nasi lemak..coz its too rich for everyday consume so its like a treat for me really to have Nasi lemak on sunday and also the highlight of my long no breakfsast routine during the weekdays. I think the banana leaf is what made the whole nasi lemak so yummy to eat..and the sambal of course and the little small "ikan masin" yummy ...hehehe..and its just 60cents. But the portion is really small which is good coz you dont want to over indulge in this food really and a little deprivation of this will surely makes up till the next time you ill have it which is for me until next sunday :)

This also brings me during the time when moncoeur was visiting and we had breakfast together and it was a really a contrast betwen the East and the west where we both have different stuffs on our plates and its funny but we still get to taste both food in the end . was really nice..just to prove my point here is a picture of our breakfast food together coutesy of Promenade Hotel :) I was having asian stuffs all the time and he would still stcik to the food that he is use to BUT with a small twist to it...you can say, we both did a little bit of mix and match. He had some hard boil eggs nasi lemak style with the sambal with his usual bread and butter stuffs and i had my usual nasi lemak and bi hoon + something western which is fish something with some baked beans and tomatoes :-) But im so very glad that he can still adapt to some of our food and so we both get to enjoy them together. But i too like western food..A LOT! hehehehe

And then there was lunch time :) Mom cook some "fried rice" with some "sweet and sour fish" to go with it and another famous dish of hers and thats "ayam masak Kicap" Nene
k-mother style. Goshhhh! what a treat it was...hehehe :) Can hardly wait for dinner time ;) In other words..im so "gondo-ot" hahahah!

Well next week is my turn to cook and here are the list of things i will be trying out ;) This morning, after breakfast we watch this cooking programme and i managed to get the recipe for some of th quick and easy dish that was prepared by the moroccan chef naly Chef Iqbal so mom too was saying that its worth to try it out next weekend indeed ;)

Next Weekend food to bake and cook for my mom :)

1. Lamb shanks with baby carrot & prunes
2. Wholemeal bread
3.Calzones ( Inspired by my cousin Envy's blog post)
4.fruit salad

ok will try to make all of this if possible for my mom on Sunday. My treat for her and hope she likes it and i appoint my sister superVixen to help stir what needs to stir coz she's a pretty marvelous stirer hehehehe :)

Im going to be a salad person for now at least try to master the art of fixing a Salad and also eating them is together another different story hehehe...but this is going to be my goal this month. to get back in shape and do some excercising and cut down on some heavy duty food thats not going to be good for my health and cook more healthy food. So i've said it but doing it yet again another challenge. But i will try my best coz i want to look good and be healthy at the same time.

Food for thought!
